Jennie Garraffa

Jennie Garraffa is a Certified Trainer with the United States Hunter Jumper Association, an affiliate of the United States Equestrian Federation. She has been riding for over 25 years and has been a riding instructor for over 10 years. A graduate of University of Florida who participated on a college equestrian team, Jennie rmoved to this area from Florida, where she ran a successful riding and training business.

Jennie is an experienced competitor who has shown at both amateur and professional levels in the hunters, jumpers, equitation and Medals, and qualified for the Maclay Finals in Harrisburg as a junior rider. As a professional instructor, Jennie shares her experience and love of the sport and horses with her students while making sure they learn and excel.

In her current role as the Equestrian Director, her goal is for riders to experience fun and enjoyment while emphasizing the importance of safety and horsemanship skills.

Shayla Keating

Shayla Keating is a 23-year-old vaulting instructor from Mount Airy, Maryland. She began vaulting at the age of 10 with the Great Falls Vaulting team in Barnesville, Maryland. She rose through the levels of vaulting, including walk, trot, and canter, eventually reaching the silver level (the second highest level) in 2010. Throughout her vaulting career, Shayla has won multiple local competitions at all levels, been the Zone Champion for the East Coast twice, and competed at the annual national competition four times. She was also the trot team and novice coach for the Great Falls Vaulting team for three years, before she went to college. Additionally, Shayla has experience developing and training new vaulting horses, and she currently owns four horses and rides frequently.

Shayla graduated in 2014 from The George Washington University with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Health and Wellness. She is currently attending graduate school for Health Promotion with a Health Education track, and she hopes to become a certified Health Education Specialist in the next two years.
